Samuel Sydney Astley - Information
Samuel Sydney Astley was born in Camden on the 29th of January 1892. While the war was raging, he was residing at The Lawns on Bellevue Park Rd, Bellevue Hill in Sydney. He eventually acquired gainful employment with the government as an assessor. When he was 26 years old, Samuel decided to enlist in the AIF, signing on in Sydney on the 15th of August 1918. During training, he was made a Private at the M & D Depot in Liverpool. However, soon the Armistice was announced in mid November. Consequently, Samuel was discharged due to the termination of his enlistment period.
