John Robinson - Information

John Robinson was born in Campbelltown c1881. When the war commenced, John was working as a labourer and living with his mother, Jane, at 9 Woods St in Forest Lodge. When he was 34, he enlisted in the AIF in Liverpool on the 24th of March 1915. He then began his training at Liverpool Camp where he was designated to the 20th Battalion as a Private. However, John found it difficult to comply with army discipline. He was charged for numerous absent without leave offences and with drunkenness. As a result, he was discharged on the 24th of April 1915, under the statement 'unlikely to become an efficient soldier.'
