Henry Charles Victor Marsden - Information

The Marsden family had lived in the Campbelltown area, where Henry was born in 1883. The Marsdens later moved to Western Australia to Midland Junction. While serving with the Fremantle Infantry, Henry completed a five year apprenticeship with the state railways. He then gained employment as an iron machinist and resided at the Depot Transline in Kalgoolie. Henry, like many other lads who joined up, wanted to see more of the world. He enlisted in the AIF at Kalgoolie on the 9th of October 1916. He was stationed to the 87 Depot, and was then promoted to Lance Corporal at 22 Depot on the 23rd of November. However, on the 11th of December, Henry was discharged from military service due to illness.
