Cyril Long - Information
The Long family had lived in Campbelltown for some time. His parents, John and Augusta quickly added to their family, including Cyril, born in Campbelltown in 1892. They then relocated to 74 Queen St in Auburn. When the war broke out, Cyril was still living in Auburn with his family and working as a horse driver. When he was 22 years old, he joined the AIF in Sydney on the 23rd of October 1914. Cyril was posted to the 8th Australian Army Service Corps as a Private, however, was discharged from military service soon afterwards.
