Charles Herbert Williams - Information

Charles Herbert Williams was born in Appin on the 14th of October 1892 to Josiah and Mary Ann Williams. When the war began, Charles was living in Angledool, NSW, where he worked as a motor mechanic. At the age of 23, he enlisted in the AIF at Walgett on the 9th of November 1915. He was then designated to the 34th Battalion in West Maitland as a Private. However, he struggled during training, and was brought before a medical review board. As a result, he was medically discharged for being unfit in March 1916.
